About Us History TK Golf Travel was set up by PGA Golf Professional Scott Kirkwood as a move to capitalize on his knowledge of golf and golf courses throughout the world and to meet the demand for high end tours through his golfing and business associates. Whilst working as a Golf Professional at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, New Jersey Scott’s work priority was to teach the membership and organize international golf tours. The popularity of such tours and the contacts made within the travel industry were such that Scott decided to concentrate on this as his core area of business and TK Golf Travel was founded. Staff Scott Kirkwood, Managing Director Originally from Gullane in Scotland, golf has always been a large part of Scott’s life. From an early age he nurtured his golfing desires by playing links golf at his home course, Gullane Golf Club. He took his love of the game a step further by winning a golf scholarship at Walters State Community College in Tennessee where he studied between 1992 and 1994. Scott then took the decision to remain in Scotland and turn pro, working as Assistant Golf Professional under British PGA Professional, Jimmy Hume, for three years. Scott then headed to the United Arab Emirates to take up a position as teaching professional at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club in Dubai. These six years saw him develop their Teaching Academy into a world-class facility and organize a number of golf tours overseas, furthering his knowledge of worldwide golf. With a wealth of experience Scott’s next career move was to take him to the United States where he took up position of Assistant Golf Professional at Metedeconk National Golf Club, Jackson, New Jersey working alongside Head Professional Jay Davis. He spent two years teaching the membership and their guests and became popular organizing golf tours for those who wanted to test their golf further afield on courses in the likes of Ireland and Scotland. With so many years experience behind him Scott identified a gap in the market for an exclusive golf tour company and so relinquished his role at Metedeconk National to start up TK Golf Travel in 2004.
